Hockey Day in Victoria!!!

January 5, 2006 Tonight the Salmon Kings open up their three-game set against the Fresno Falcons. The game starts at 7:00 PM at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre. The series will wrap up on Saturday, also known as Hockey Day in Canada. In the NHL, six Canadian teams will be going head-to-head (Ottawa vs. Montreal, Toronto vs. Edmonton, Calgary vs. Canucks) with each game being shown on CBC. In lieu of such an important Canadian holiday, Sopranos Sports Bar (730 Caledonia - across from the SOFMC) is opening their doors the whole day. After the Salmon Kings game, there will be a party involving a band titled the Usual Suspects a few Salmon Kings players. The Victoria game is also slated as a "Loud Crowd" game as some of Victoria's most enthusiastic fans will be cheering from the same section of the rink.
